Shinrin-yoku, originated in Japan and translates to English as forest bathing, is a way to engage with nature by intentionally using our five senses to explore the natural world. Enjoy gentle yoga poses, mindful breathing exercises, and the sights and sounds of our environment as we walk and explore the library grounds. Forest bathing cultivates mindfulness practices that can boost focus, promote empathy, reduce stress and improve attention. Practicing as a family strengthens familial bonds and encourages communication and connection. This program is geared toward families with children ages 5 and up.
