Clipper Ships of Maine In-Person
Clipper Ships of Maine: Clipper ships are widely considered to be the fastest and most beautiful commercial sailing vessels ever constructed. Many of these ships where built right here in Maine. The era of the clipper ships was incredibly short but these vessels were integral to key trade routes in the mid 1800s. Maritime historian Seth Goldstein will share stories of sadistic captains and horrific storms amongst other topics related to these “greyhounds of the sea.”
